A Major Life Milestone
July 24th, 2006
Today was my first wedding anniversary. Talk about an exciting day. I celebrated by waking up sick as a dog. More on that later. Yes, one year ago today I married my dream girl / soulmate Lindsay. I have heard people say that the first year of a marriage is the hardest. I hope that is true because the past year has been amazing. No difficulties, no troubles. Just pure wedded bliss. One down and at least 60 to go!
So yeah, sick as a dog. Have you ever been feverish when the temperature is 30 degrees Celsius outside? Not pleasant. I slept and watched a couple of movies. Aeon Flux and Ultraviolet. I tend to give any scifi movie the benefit of the doubt but these were rather lackluster. Aeon Flux wasn’t all that bad but it was a trifle predictable and slow moving. Ultraviolet was a great big pile of steaming crap. Both of them relied heavily on the “actors on wires doing crazy flying fight-stuff” style of filmmaking. A style which has been so overdone it has become boring. These sad movies were especially pathetic following the two awesome movies I saw this weekend. Oh well, they can’t all be classics…
Speaking of movies, when I was driving Lindsay home from work today we went past a theatre showing My Super Ex-Girlfriend. Unfortunately, whoever was responsible for the marquee spoke fluent Saskatchewanese and put My Super Ex-girl Friend up. Ahh, the story of someone’s trans-gendered friend who happens to be a superhero. Nice.
